Description
LifeWay and new author Mary Jo Sharp are coming together
to tape a new Bible Study resource called “Why Do You Believe That: A
Faith Conversation”. This will be the first video Bible study that Mary
Jo is producing with LifeWay. The study focuses on knowing what you
believe and equipping believers to feel confident discussing matters of
faith with those they encounter.

Mary Jo Sharp is a former atheist from the
Pacific Northwest who thought religion was for the weak-minded. She now
holds a Masters in Christian Apologetics from Biola University and is
the first woman to become a Certified Apologetics Instructor through the
North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. A
clear communicator with a teacher’s heart, she finds great joy in
discussing the deep truths of her Lord and Savior. She administrates the
website, Confident Christianity, and has engaged in two formal, public
debates with Muslims.

Heart, Soul, and Mind Summer Series
Ladies, this is a apologetics/spiritual transformation series designed specifically for you! Throughout the summer, I will be issuing the challenge to women to return to a lifelong commitment of growing in the knowledge of God; no matter what stage of life you are in. We’ll have worship time, some interactive teaching sessions, question and answer sessions, and prayer.
This series is meant to be challenging, but in a relaxed and open atmosphere. Our goal is to foster a love of learning and an environment of unity amongst the believers and to be available to those who have questions regarding belief in God.

- Three Tuesdays this summer: June 8th (tomorrow), July 6th, and August 3rd

Book Contract!
Signing the contract for my first book! It’s now official and I wanted you to be the first to know. Thank you for all of your support and for reading this blog. Kregel Publications contacted me a couple of years back after I finally decided to start a blog. The story is worth telling, so here goes:
While working on my MA in Christian Apologetics at Biola University, my professor, Dr. Clay Jones, told the students that we were to have a dialogue with a non-believer. The manner in which we were to dialogue was given as an option. Option #1: Hold an email conversation discussing the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. Option #2: Begin a blog. At first, I chose the email option mainly because I was apprehensive about putting my beliefs out there for anyone to critique. Soon, I became convicted and decided to take the plunge…so began this blog, Confident Christianity.
I have been challenged through the past few years by atheists, agnostics, and even fellow believers. Each pushes me to continue to learn and test what I believe to be true about reality. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. This Sunday, March 14th, brings another birthday. As another year passes, I find that I can think of no better thing I’d rather be doing with my life than what I am currently doing.
Confident Christianity is the result of much guidance and spiritual direction from many of my colleagues. With gratefulness I welcome the opportunity to put my thoughts to words. Your prayers and encouragement are felt and appreciated!

Mary Jo Sharp, M.A. of Confident Christianity Apologetics Ministry will be formally debating Tabasum Hussain, PhD. of The Muslim Debate Initiative. The debate will take place in Scarborough, Ontario (Toronto) on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20th at 5:30pm.

Mary Jo Sharp is a former atheist from the Pacific Northwest who thought religion was for the weak-minded. Some of her speaking engagements include: The Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma State and Youth Evangelism Conferences, the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia Youth Evangelism Conference, The Southern Baptists of Texas Evangelism and Leadership Conferences, and the Evangelical Theological Society National Conference. Mary Jo administrates the website, Confident Christianity, and the Facebook group, Two Chix Apologetics, where she engages people from around the world in dialogue concerning the truth of Christianity.
DR. TABASUM HUSSAIN BIO:
Dr. Hussain. Born and raised in London, England, she acquired a BSc(HONS) in Biological Sciences at the University of Westminster, an MSc in Advanced Neuroscience at University College London, and lived in Australia for six years acquiring a PhD in Psychological Medicine (Neuroscience) at Monash University, Victoria. Recently settled with family in Toronto, Canada. Outside of her profession she has developed an interest over the years in Muslim-Christian Apologetics. Dr. Hussain has recently become a member of the Muslim Debate Initiative to become more involved in debate/dialogue focusing on women`s issues in the Bible vs the Quran.
